The department of Digital Design and Processing at the Institute of Active Polymers in cooperation with Institute of Material Systems Modeling at Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon invites applications for the position of a Research Scientist in Computational Fluid Dynamics. In principle, the position can also be offered as a PhD candidate position.
At the department of Digital Design and Processing, we are working in close collaboration with colleagues at the Charité, Germany’s largest university hospital. Jointly, we are developing clinically led, materials-oriented solutions to key healthcare issues, particularly in the cardiovascular system. Our key objective is developing advanced implants to enhance minimally invasive approaches to treatment of cardiovascular diseases. To this end, in the cooperation with the Institute of Material System Modeling, we aim at developing Digital Twins to accelerate the development of new materials and implants.
Equal opportunity is an important part of our personnel policy. We would therefore strongly encourage qualified women to apply for the position.
Enquiries regarding this position can be directed to Dr. Katarzyna Polak-Krasna (Katarzyna.Polak-Krasna@hereon.de).
The Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon conducts cutting-edge international research for a changing world: Around 1,000 employees contribute to the tackling of climate change, the sustainable use of the world's coastal systems and the resource-compatible enhancement of the quality of life. From fundamental research to practical applications, the interdisciplinary research spectrum covers a unique range.
The Institute of Active Polymers at Hereon performs research on multifunctional polymer materials and their interaction with living systems. Information-based design approaches aim at sustainable innovations for regenerative medicine, age‑appropriate living and bio‑based consumer products. The institute is located at the Hereon campus in Teltow near Berlin.
Then we are looking forward to receiving your comprehensive application documents (cover letter, CV, transcripts, certificates, etc.) indicating the reference number 2025/PL 1 until July 22nd, 2025.
Severely disabled persons and those equaling severely disabled persons who are equally suitable for the position will be considered preferentially within the framework of legal requirements.
